Pinky terms of use

Effective date: 22 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Qiuyuan Zhu, the individual developer who runs Pinky ("we", "us"). By using the Pinky app you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains what happens to your messages.

1. You must be 18 or over

Companion chatbots may not be suitable for some minors. Pinky is only for adults. You may use it only if you are 18 or over. If you are under 18, please don't use Pinky.

2. What Pinky is, and what it is not

Pinky lets you chat with AI characters that remember what you tell them. Their replies are written by AI, not by a person, even when they feel personal.

• Replies can be wrong. The AI characters can make mistakes, misremember, or say things that are inaccurate or inappropriate. Use your own judgement and don't rely on a reply for anything important.
• Pinky is not therapy and not medical advice. It is not a counsellor, doctor, lawyer or financial adviser, and it can't diagnose or treat anything. For health, legal or money questions, talk to a qualified professional.
• Pinky is not an emergency service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now. Our crisis support page lists numbers.

3. Your account

• You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. Keep access to your email safe: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
• Your account is for you alone. Don't share it or sign in as someone else.
• Pinky has daily limits on how much you can chat. When you reach one, the app tells you.
• You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by email (see our account deletion page).

4. What is not allowed

When you use Pinky, you must not:

• share or try to get content that sexually exploits or endangers children, in any form;
• try to get sexually explicit content;
• use Pinky to plan, encourage or carry out violence, self-harm, terrorism or any other illegal act;
• harass, threaten or bully anyone, or use Pinky to create content that does;
• share other people's private information without their permission;
• pretend to be someone else in a way that misleads or harms them;
• try to get around Pinky's limits or safety rules, or get the AI characters to break them;
• break, attack, overload, copy or reverse-engineer Pinky, or collect data from it with automated tools;
• use Pinky to send spam, or collect its replies to build or train another product.

If you see a reply that breaks these rules, please report it with Report on that reply in the app.

5. Your content

What you write stays yours. You allow us to store and process it, and to send it to the AI services named in our privacy policy, only so that we can run Pinky for you: reply to you, remember what you said, look things up, keep Pinky safe and fix faults.

Replies are written for you to use as you like, but you are responsible for what you do with them.

6. If you break these terms

If you break these terms, or if we need to protect other people or Pinky, we may limit, suspend or close your account. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.

7. Changes to Pinky

We may change, pause or stop parts of Pinky, or all of it. If we plan to stop Pinky altogether, we will tell you in the app first where we can.

8. Our responsibility

We work to keep Pinky running and your data safe, but we provide Pinky as it is and can't promise it will always be available, error-free or suitable for your purposes.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by relying on a reply, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law that can't be limited, such as the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Pinky.

9. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Pinky after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
